I can get really excited about giving. Last Valentine’s Day, I surprised the security guards at our military base with a box of heart shaped donuts and a box of freshly brewed, hot coffee.
I knew I wanted to do a random act of kindness, and once I hit upon this idea, I was so excited that I couldn’t wait for Valentine’s day to arrive.
I arrived at Krispy Kreme while it was still dark outside, ordered my box of donuts and coffee. I was all a twitter as I drove back to the base. As the line of cars slowly moved through the checkpoint, I tapped my fingers on the steering wheel. At last! My turn. I showed my military ID and then I said, “I think you guys do a great job, and I wanted to wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day.” I handed the boxes through the window and I drove off with a huge smile on my face. I positively danced through the rest of the day.
Give, because it’s exciting to look forward to and exciting to do!
