“When I chased after money, I never had enough. When I got my life on purpose and focused on giving of myself and everything that arrived into my life, then I was prosperous.” Wayne Dyer
Can you think back to a time when someone needed something from you, and you knew it? Maybe it was that boy whose unrequited love made you uncomfortable. Maybe it was that desperate sales person who sent you running the other direction. Chasing after what we need can often have the opposite effect we desire. We may hope that by running, we can catch up to it and grab it before it slips away. But instead we find that we never catch up. Our fear and our neediness drive it further from us faster.
Instead, stay where you are, open your hand, and give. Suddenly, the dynamic changes. Their curiosity is piqued. Who is this person who has so much that they can give so much? How can I be part of their world?
Give because giving is better than chasing when it comes to getting what you want.
