Never let the fear of striking out get in your way. Babe Ruth
Each time a baseball player steps up to the plate, he gives everything he has trying hit that ball. He gives all of his attention, all of his skill, and all of his heart. Sometimes, he’ll hit, and sometimes he won’t.
Actually, most of the time he’ll miss. The best baseball players of all time have a batting average around 30%. That means for every 10 times they swing, they hit the ball 3 times and miss 7. They miss 70% of the time!! And yet, they’re the best baseball players in history.
But how often would he miss if he only sort of tried? What if he only really tried when he was sure he would hit the ball? Well, then he’d never become one of the greats.
Give, because striking out is part of the game. But if you don’t give all you’ve got when you get up to bat (and you’re always up to bat), you’ll never know how great you could be.
