“How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these.” George Washington Carver, scientist (1864-1943)
When you were young, you needed basic physical needs in order for you to survive. At some point in your life, you hit a rough patch and needed someone to remind you that you were loved. Someday you will be old, and again in need of basic physical care.
There’s no guarantee that when you’re in need someone will be there to give what you need, but give, because you know someday you’ll be in need. When that day comes, hopefully someone out there will give to you. And maybe, it was your example that inspired them to give, too.
