There are 7 billion people on this planet. And each one of them is afraid that he/she isn’t worthy of love. Each one feels hurt, scared, and insignificant. Each one of those people needs love more than anything else in the world and is doing everything in his/her power to get it. Sometimes it’s hard to see that, because of their behavior. They may be trying to get love by controlling other people or by making a lot of money or looking beautiful, and they’re disappointed when those actions don’t get them real love. They may be running away so fast from the pain of not being loved that they are mean and hurtful. But deep down, we are all the same, and we yearn to be loved for who we are.
What the world needs is not just love, because we are filled with love. It needs us to stop withholding our love because we’re angry, or resentful, or afraid of being hurt, or afraid our love will not be returned. It needs us to act loving even when we’re tired or stressed or struggling for our own survival.
What the world needs is for us to give our love at all times in all circumstances to all people.
