You’ve heard me say this before…
It’s a beautiful world. And the most beautiful moments happen when people are giving. Here are a few beautiful moments to lift your spirit and restore your hope in people.
Tony Tolbert gives his home a homeless family
His actual home. The one he lives in. He’s moving in with his mom, so that a single mom of 4 can live there for one year. Watch this video to see what giving means to him and to the family moving in.
Taylor Morris, quadruple amputee, and his girlfriend give love
Below you’ll find two videos. The first is a series of 22 photos that introduced the world to Taylor Morris and his girlfriend Danielle Kelly. This is a story of two people giving unconditional love and support to each other. As you watch the videos, you’ll see just how beautiful it is to see unconditional love. And even more beautiful is that by sharing their story, they give us hope and inspiration. In response, people have given more than $250,000 to help Taylor Morris with his medical expenses and future needs.
New Jersey Gives Shelter to Lost Sandy Pets
St. Huberts operates two animal shelters in New Jersey. After the storm hit, St. Huberts knew there was going to be a long-term problem for the pets of the Jersey area. Many parts of New Jersey are NOT pet-friendly, and it can be very difficult to find pet friendly housing. As a result, many pet owners would not be able to keep their pets even though they would like to.
Immediately after Hurricane Sandy, the ASPCA had set up temporary shelters for pets, but St. Huberts didn’t know what would happen when the ASPCA left. The pet owners would probably not be in a place where they could take their pets back yet.
They developed a “Foster a Sandy Pet” network that matched people willing to be fosters with pets in need of foster homes. When the counties announced the temporary pet shelters would be closing, over 200 pets were still homeless. St. Huberts used the Foster a Sandy Pet to help place animals, and EVERY animal was found temporary lodging. St. Huberts actions saved the lives of those pets, and The People With Compassion for Pets Giving Circle was delighted to give an emergency donation to support St. Huberts and the displaced pets of Super Storm Sandy.
We are at our best when we give. Give, because giving is beautiful.
