Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. We all have fears- fear of failure or looking stupid or being judged, etc.– and those fears can cost us opportunities– to connect deeply with a fellow human being, to follow a dream, to share a personal story, to start a business, to try a new food, volunteer in a homeless shelter.
Remember, you’ll be dead soon. You have nothing to lose except that which you could have given but didn’t. There is only one thing that is truly important: giving.
