Love cannot remain by itself-it has no meaning. Love has to be put into action and that action is service. Mother Teresa
Merriam-Webster defines love as “a strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties”, “affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interests” or and “unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another.” Truly, love is a beautiful emotion.
But what good is it?
What good is your love for those you love if you don’t do something about it? Nothing. Love without action is meaningless.
If you love your spouse, give to them. Give them your time and attention. Give them your moral support and your praise. Give them surprises and affection. Give to your spouse unconditionally and abundantly– not because you want your spouse to give you love, too. Give it because you were made to give love and lighting them up light you up, too.
If you love this planet, don’t just give it your garbage. Give it your voice to protect open spaces, clean water, and diversity. Give it your time and discover how to live using less resources and impact.
If you love your freedom, give time and money to charities supporting veterans.
If you love a just world, then give your time, talent, and money to providing opportunities to those who haven’t had opportunities.
Make your love good for something. Give your time, money, and talents to everything you love.
