I am very passionate about two causes. One, I want to end poverty and help people become self-sufficient. I believe this is important for two reasons. First, people must be able to take care of themselves, their families, and contribute to their communities. It’s a necessary component to being a healthy and happy human being. We all NEED this. Second, until people can stop worrying about what’s going on the table for dinner, they are going to find it difficult it to care about all the other problems we’re facing in this world.
The other thing I’m passionate about is helping animals. Because they have no voices and they rely on us to do the right thing, we owe it to them to take care of them. Animal welfare speaks to my heart in a way that nothing else does (that might explain why I’ve adopted 3 dogs over the age of 7).
When you look out at the world and think, “If only this one thing were fixed, then I’d feel like the world was so much better off,” what is that thing?
Curing cancer? Ending the spread of AIDS? Cleaning up the environment? Ending domestic violence? Ensuring every child receives an education? Making sure our veterans are living happy, healthy lives? Ending poverty?
What change do you want to see in the world?
