Meet Molly. Molly is a beagle who grew up in a lab where human stents were tested in her jugular vein.
Or meet Shima, a mare who was confined in a tiny stall for months on end while her urine was collected to produce Premarin, a drug used in estrogen replacement therapy.
Kindness Ranch gives these animals a chance for a new life. As a sanctuary, many former lab animals will live out their lives on this 1,000 acre ranch in Wyoming taken care of by loving hands and given the room to run and do the kinds of things animals are supposed to do. Some of their animals are available for adoption, but many of the dogs and cats require quite a bit of rehabilitation as they are not used to things like leashes, going to the bathroom outside, and friendly affection from people.
This week, People With Compassion for Pets Giving Circle donated $747.50 to Kindness Ranch. I was a very small part of that, and I want to thank my other giving circle members who are proving that a little from a lot of people is a BIG deal!
If you’ve felt that you’re too small, too broke, or too busy to make a big difference, then you’ll love being a part of a giving circle like ours. We invite you to be a part of it and start feeling great about how you donate.
