Our regularly scheduled education event occurs at our meetings next week, and I’m so excited to share with you the movie we will be discussing.
Dogs on the Inside follows the relationships between abused stray dogs and prison inmates working towards a second chance at a better life. In an attempt to re-build their confidence and prepare for a new life outside, these prisoners must first learn to handle and care for a group of neglected strays. This heart-warming story reconfirms the timeless connection between man and dog, showing the resiliency of a dogs’ trust and the generosity of the human spirit in the unlikeliest of places.
This is the first time that we’ll be discussing the same movie in all the giving circles, and that’s because I believe this issue relates to all of us.
Obviously, the People With Compassion for Pets Giving Circle loves to witness the transformation dogs can trigger in people.
The Poverty Busters Giving Circle will look at a group of people often trapped in a cycle of violence and poverty. Is it possible that the unconditional love of a dog provides these men with greater emotional coping skills that could turn their lives around?
The Veterans Giving Circle can get a better understanding of the value of a service animal to a veteran with physical or emotional challenges.
Check out the trailer to see if you’re interested in watching the movie with us.
You can rent the movie for $3.99 at their website: http://www.dogsontheinside.com/#watch
