Charitable Donation Advice
Charitable Donating Advice is a recurring column here at Change Gangs: Virtual Giving Circles so that we can make a big impact on the world. We know that sometimes it’s hard to find money to donate, so here’s a couple places that might help.
2 Websites Helping You Find Money to Donate
If you’re like me, it can be hard at the end of the month to find money to donate. That’s one of the reasons why I donate first. If I waited to the end of the month, I would inevitably spend that extra $50 on coffees, fac’s, and other non-essential items. So, I have charitable donations as a part of my monthly budget and that dollar amount is automatically transferred to my giving circles. And if I can’t spend it, I won’t!
Here are a couple other tools that might help you find money to donate.
Kharma Goat is just like Craiglist. You put your unwanted stuff up for sale, but unlike Craigslist, the buyer pays for the purchase with a credit card and 85% of the purchase price is forwarded directly to a charity of your choice.
When you enroll with Mini Donations, they will take your credit card purchases and round them up to the nearest dollar. Those mini donations are collected into an account for you, and you can use these funds to make donations to your favorite charities. Mini donations will provide you with one statement at the end of the year with your tax deductible donations.
