Why Give Answer 16: Give, Because… You’ll Feel More Gratitude

Do you ever feel like you don’t have enough?

Do you ever wish you had more? a bigger house? a faster car? that cute pair of shoes?

Do you wish you could afford a boat? a better vacation? a bigger birthday party for your kids?

Me, too. We all do. It’s part of our human nature. It doesn’t matter how much we have. The richest people in the world still want. It’s not an issue of money.

The cure for feeling unhappy with what you have is NOT to have more. The cure is to give away. Giving your time, money, and talent reminds you that no matter how bad you have it, someone out there has it way worse than you. Giving reminds you of how much you already have so you can be grateful for it.

What do you have?

It may be health, financial resources, education, family, friends, knowledge, a passion for art, a big heart, or dozens or even hundreds of other experiences, possessions, and personal qualities that improve the quality of your life and made you the person you are today. You have so much.

Give, because you’ll fee more gratitude for what you have and who you are.
